So with graduation came many, many sad goodbyes!
Zach has been part of our family for the past three years.
His family lives off-island, a country we shall leave unnamed for security reasons. Obviously, he was unable to fly home for some holidays and all the "no activity" weekends (when the dorm would be closed).
Our home then became his home. God allowed us to witness his growth as a learner and as a young man. We don't know if our paths will ever cross again.
But I know he is in God's hands.
After this difficult goodbye, we were privileged to spend some quality time with the rest of the gang, the female side and their parents.
The Kimbles, fellow OMS missionaries, hosted us, as well as Natasha's family. Natasha and her family are also missionaries here in Taiwan, but are originally from the Philippines.
The food was amazing. I don't like beef, but Natasha's mom made a dish from the Philippines that had me actually going back for a second try. Lydia also made several delicious vegetable dishes that had me digging in for more.
But, better than the food, was the fellowship. This was the first time we have spent time with Natasha's parents and truly enjoyed getting to know them personally. Last summer, Natasha's dad was diagnosed with cancer. Throughout this past year, Natasha shared his struggles through the various treatments. We also shared in her joy when he was declared cancer free this past spring.

Fortunately, the evening did not contain any sad goodbyes. But, come July and August, we will not be spared. Natasha leaves to attend college in America mid-July. And of course, Ben will be leaving mid-August for Oklahoma Baptist.
And that, my friends, will be the hardest!
