While I would love to be sharing vacation photos and memories, I feel I first need to make an update concerning my last blog.
Abbi's friend Josh was walking home from volunteering at a local hospital when he was struck by a car. Most damaging was the impact to his skull, and ultimately his brain.
This happened Tuesday afternoon. Early Thursday morning, Joshua quietly ended his earthly life and began his eternal adventure in the presence of God. While victorious for him, the hole created by his death has been tremendous.
Last Saturday, Abbi and I paused in our vacationing to attend Josh's memorial service.

While the majority of funerals in Taiwan are of the Buddhist nature, Josh was the son of missionaries, and fully committed in growing in his personal faith, therefore, a Christian service was planned.
While bittersweet, the memorial service was a celebration of Josh's life. Unlike American funerals, many of those closest to Josh were given an opportunity to share, including his father, mother, brother, roommate, and Maggie. Plenty of opportunities for tears to be shed. My heart weeped for his family and Maggie.
As you can imagine, it was long. And most of it in Chinese.
Pictures, videos, singing, cheering, and finally, the placing of flowers.
A wonderful tribute for a brother in Christ.
His presence will definitely be missed in the hearts and lives of those left to mourn.
Please pray for his mom, dad, brother, as well as the senior class here at Morrison. I ask that you especially remember to pray for Maggie.
Thank you!
